The 9-5 life was never my ting’ so I made embracing the beauty of the unknown and my intuition my bestie.

THE PATH OF REMEMBERING MY POWER
My story
I sat in my College Math class one cloudy rainy day in Washington, DC feeling absolutely miserable. Since enrolling, I’d always ask myself “Wtf am I doing here?” and “Who am I doing this for?”.
That day was the first time that I took one of the biggest leaps of my life by walking down to the registrar’s office to apply for a withdrawal. And let me tell you, I could literally feel the weight lift off of my spirit.
.. The weight of my family and societal expectations
… The weight of being the “token black girl”
… The weight of living someone else’s dream
… The weight of feeling like I needed to follow the “regular” path in life to “make it”
I took the chance to decide that I get to make my own rules on what “making it” looks and feels like. I finally realized back then at 17 years old that “oh shit, I’m really in the driver’s seat” and that I am divinely guided.
THE JOURNEY OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP STARTED OFF A LIL’ STRANGE I’M NOT GONNA LIE LOL
Back then I had about 2 part-time retail boutique jobs… A random sales associate job which I later discovered was a culty pyramid scheme of selling cookware. Weird.
Before that, I was killin’ it over at Chick-fil-A as the lead team member “my pleasuring” it up 8 hours a day.
I can literally tell you what’s in the “secret” chicken batter if you wanna make a more healthier version, let me know… I got you, boo. I got offered to become an Assistant Manager at my bougie boutique job plus General Manager at Chick-Fil-A… “whew, decisions decisions” I said as I scratched my cute lil’ 4c afro.
A download came through, (I like to think of these as my Inner Knowing, my Divine Spy, my Guiding Light) and said “NOPE, that’s not what you’re supposed to be doing either.”
I felt the pull to remember my gifts, my passions, and the juiced-up joy that I felt every time I would write short stories, create film concepts, paint, make herbal products, craft, sing, dance, make content, etc...
Fast forward a few months later, I studied social media management, marketing, design, and branding then opened the doors to my first business Soco & Moda.
$200k was made my first two years, scaled to outsource + hire eight amazing women, worked with brands featured in all the major publishing platforms, and got to connect with so many inspiring woman-founders!
After 3 years, I shut her down. Then something magical happened…

I went from being a burnt-out full-time entrepreneur of a Content Creation & Social Media Management Agency, living out of alignment, sleeping on my divine passions that needed to be released, and taking on draining AF projects just to expand my monthly income goals…. to slow-traveling around Mama Gaia, and helping hundreds more creative humans (daily), all while working less than 10 hours a week and consistently generating 5-figures monthly passively.
The secret ingredient that spiced up my life? It's offering creations to the world that light me all the way tf up and the full embodiment of my multi-dimensional artistry.
